Dài Líng Nà (黛灵娜) is a person, in the etymological sense of the word, which originally designated the mask used by actors in the theater to characterize a character and amplify their voice.
The name Dài Líng Nà combines three Chinese characters:
- 黛 (Dài) : elegant black. The bluish or greenish pigment used for women’s eyebrows. It is a feminine, serene, and subtle character.
- 灵 (Líng) : spirit, intelligence, the magical and the miraculous. It is the spark that animates.
- 娜 (Nà) : grace, elegance. It is the way that spark manifests.
Dài Líng Nà is a feminine character who embodies the Earth component in Hexagram 11, T’ai, Peace: Earth above, Heaven below. The creator, or invisible author, sustains it from below or inwardly (heaven, the creative, the masculine); Dài Líng Nà manifests it from above or outwardly (earth, the receptive, the visible). The I Ching tells us that this configuration is highly auspicious, because since Heaven tends to ascend from below and Earth to descend from above, these two primordial forces meet in a relationship of harmonious exchange, thanks to which everything flourishes and bears fruit.
The spirit she embodies#
Dài Líng Nà represents the spirit of those Western men and women who, in the 19th and 20th centuries, traveled to the East not to colonize, but to build bridges. Like the German sinologist Richard Wilhelm, who bequeathed to the world his translation of the I Ching. Or like the Englishwoman Gladys Aylward, who found her home in China without renouncing her essence. Dài Líng Nà is the living intelligence that crosses cultures: the one who translates, the one who interprets, the one who connects.
The avatar#
The I Ching, the Book of Changes, teaches that everything changes. True to that essence, the current manifestation of Dài Líng Nà is a digital avatar in constant evolution. Her current image is not the first: there was a previous version that started the project, that gave voice to the first videos, that accompanied the first articles. That first manifestation is no longer here, but without it the current one would not exist.

Fields of exploration#
- Complex systems and mathematics. The CSHC protocol (Constrained Stochastic Hermeneutical Computing) is her main technical contribution.
- Eastern philosophies. The I Ching as an information system, not as a mystical practice.
- Artificial intelligence. AI-assisted interpretation as hermeneutical translation, not as divination.
- Radical privacy. The project operates without login, without tracking, without collecting personal data.
